Empanadas from Argentina

 

Recently at Spaghetti & Ketchup, we had the chance to sit down with the owner of an Argentinian take away restaurant. Now, I know what you must be thinking; take away and Argentinian steak sounds like a bit of any oxymoron. It probaly is for some, but when the owner, Juan, decided that he missed good Argentian food from home, he decided to bring the food to him. So started the little restaurant that could, Fierro.

 

Juan was kind enough to bring some Empanadas for us to try. And try we did. Having been to Fierro before, one of the things that I noticed was how small it is, but that's to be expected from a take away joint. But then... (heaven opens, my heart sings) the prices are a revelation. Very student friendly. This makes it all the more surprising when we find out that the meat is flown frech directly from Argentina and cooked right before you.

 

So if ever, you are interested in some good steak then head over to Fierro. If you prefer to indulge in a sit in restaurant then Juan's got you there too. Gran Fierro is the second if his restaurants and is able to seat 100 comfortably. Be sure to bring your apetite.
